What's my username?

Generally your username is the first letter of your first name plus your last name, such as jdoe for John Doe
HOWEVER, if you share the same first letter of your first name and last name with one or more people that are currently in the system, your username will be created using the following naming conventions
Using John Michael Doe as an example:
1. jdoe = First Initial and Last name
2. jmdoe = First Initial and Middle Initial Last Name
3. john.doe = First Name and . and Last Name
4. doej = Last Name and First Initial
Your blackboard username should be identical to your UTmail username.
If it is not you need to get in touch with blackboard support, blackboard@ut.edu, to make sure they are identical

What's my password?

Blackboard password information
On the blackboard password information page please type your full, accurate, name (example, Stephen Smith, instead of Steve Smith)

What if my username and/or password do not work?

If you have tried all the possible usernames and passwords together and are still having trouble logging in please contact blackboard support, blackboard@ut.edu. Please include your full name and UTID number in the email.
